Was The Marriage Decision A Revision of the Constitution?

At a conference on the California Supreme Court on Friday, Santa Clara Law School professor and California Supreme Court scholar Gerry Uelmen asked the following question: "If Proposition 8 is a revision of the California Constitution, does that mean that the Court's original decision in the Marriage Cases was also a revision"?
